Pokemon TCG ex Series Serial Codes
2
Updated: February 17, 2024

This document is intended to catalogue the serial codes for the old ex era cards (2003-2007). The serial codes are found on the bottom left of every card and consist of a combination of letters and numbers arranged in groups of three (xxx-xxx-xxx). The purpose of these codes is not well known, but according to (https://pokepoke36.com/2021/06/25/), they were intended to be used for accessing scans of card art on a mobile phone app called Pokemon (Hiroba)Square. However, this does not appear to have ever materialized and it is unclear if this was planned for non-Japanese cards. Furthermore, it is unknown why there are multiple codes for the same card art.
