25 | NGC 2024 | Emission Nebula; The Flame Nebula | ~7th | 30'x20' | Orion | 4 | 05h 41.9m | -01⁰ 51' | 1/20/26; 23:57; SQM L 21.66; | Erickson Pass Rd Corral Site | Seeing: 4/5; Transp: 5/5; Antoniadi I | The best view was at first without the filter. The flame structure came out with averted vision and it was easily observed. The UHC narrowband filter brought out more of the image. I put Alnitak out of the FOV and it brought out even more without the filter and with the filter. The nebula shines brightly and dark lane is easily observed. Two main parts seperated by dark lanes. Various levels of streams and streaks go through the nebula. Plenty of gaps and spaces also contrast through this nebula. | 17.5" f/4.4; 16.5mm Pentax XW, 9mm XWA; UHC Narrowband filter
26 | NGC 1980 | Emission Nebula | __ | 14'x14' | Orion | 3 | 05h 35.4m | -05⁰ 54' | 1/20/26: 00:09; SQM L 21.73 | Erickson Pass Rd Corral Site | Seeing: 4/5; Transp: 5/5; Antoniadi I | Just above Messier 42 around Iota Orionis, the nebula at this site is easily observed mixed in with the glare from Iota Orionis; Averted vision showed the nebula the best. There are about 20-24 stars in evidnce with the nebulosity more observable around Iota Orionis and the bright pair of HR1887 and HR1886. The nebulosity is is basically even in its brightness fading as you get away from the bright stars. | 17.5" f/4.4; 16.5mm Pentax XW; 13mm & 9mm XWA; OIII and DGM NPB filters

Brighter on the SW edge and is well defined on the SE, NE and NW. A dark botch is visible in at 402x in the 4.8mm XWA on the western side, and that botch has a notch in it, making it look almost like a small anvil. | 17.5" f/4.4; 16.5mm Pentax XW; 7mm & 4.8mm XWA; OIII and DGM NPB 2" filters.

No filter and OIII shows a slightly round to oval planetary slightly elongated West to East. Brighter on the SW end. Central star was observed at lower power with averted then at 408x it held steady. Bright outer ring and darker central region. Nice. | 17.5" f/4.4; 9mm XWA, 7mm XWA, 4.8mm XWA with OIII and DGM NPB filter

34 | NGC 2403 | Mixed Spiral Galaxy | 8.5 | 25.5'x13' | Camelopardalis | 4 | 07h 36.9m | +65⁰ 36' | 1/20/26; 01:25; SQM L 21.73 | Erickson Pass Rd Corral Site | Seeing: 4/5; Transp: 5/5; Antoniadi I | Large bright spiral galaxy with brightening to the core region. Core is bright and oval and large. 2 stars are imposed on the core with one just off the core's edge. Outer edge is nicely define at higher powers and at medium powers fades into cosmic background. Two spiral arms are observable with some brightening on them for HII regions. Mottling and dark lanes very evident! This is a FUN FUN FUND galaxy to observe! | 17.5" f/4.4; 16.5mm Pentax XW; 7mm XWA
