1. One sheet shows the time of day on the race clock when the leg was completed, the other shows the individual leg time. When I could or if in doubt, I took the time of day as the accurate figure, and calculated leg times from that.

2. The start time and finish time are as shown on the race clock. In most cases there was a discrepancy between the official finishing time and the finishing time shown on the paper time sheet, but usually only a few seconds. Some were much higher than that, though. Unless asked to otherwise, I've adjusted the time for Leg 18 either up or down so that the finishing time shown here is the correct one.

3. The 'time of day' spreadsheet has a final column which shows the discrepancy between team and official finishing times. If it's preceded by a + sign, the team's time is higher (and therefore slower) than the official time; if there's a minus sign, the opposite applies. If there's an = sign, there was no difference. If there's no entry the team didn't record a finish time.

4. Most teams used the official start time on the paper time sheet, but a couple used the time on their clock - a 6.30 start, for example, becoming 6:31:07. I've adjusted for this, so that all start times, and subsequent times of day, are based on the official start time.

5. Any penalties for straying from the official route are added to the relevant leg time, with the adjusted time in italics.
