RobertHavenDorchester, Ontario, CanadaI've ridden the Trans Eastern Trail, The Continental Divide Trail, as well as the Trans America Trail along with numerous other long and shorter distance rides. I am an American transplanted in Canada and have a foot in both countries. I've followed GPS Kevin and have a similar philosophy of riding, although I'm mostly a fan of smaller displacement bikes. I read about the scooter ride last year and thought "what a kick-ass ride" I'd love to ride it with my wife if possible. BSA 250 thumper, Kawi 400 street bike, Restored a Kawi triple, Honda 230l, Suzuki 400s, Yamaha WR250R, and now a KTM 350 EXC-Fbob@bhaven.comWife and possibly another couple.5192682418For the fun. I have a buddy who does an online magazine called the Traction eRag. He's a really fun and crazy guy who would make a great addition to the ride. I'm trying to get him onboard as well.
I'm a photographer/webdesigner and have done work for the mag. We'd probably cover this thing for the magazine as well.

I've done rides in a dozen countries. Including extended rides on small bikes and scooters. I think it would be a great experience to do this. If it looks promising, I want to get some of the Egyptians interested.Would a MadAss 125 qualify for the ride? I've had a long time desire to own one.

Scott (Scooter)Moore (MoorePed)RochesterCurrently 37 years old, and have been riding large and small displacement motorcycles since I was eleven. I currently collect small displacement 2 stoke scooters and mopeds, with my collection now topping 27 total bikes. I also build electric bicycles and mopeds.I've ridden the TAT twice, once with the roll charts, once with the GPS. Locally my friend Troy and I organize local moped events under our club name the Sons of Apathy. We were thinking of doing this ride, me on a CT 90, and Troy on a billion watt electric bike. I'm actually riding the tat starting on the 19th of July, and ending in Sacramento. I planned on purchasing either a Honda ch250, a Grom, or somethingof the sort and then riding back to Rochester NY. Anyone riding back from San Fran who'd wasn't to join me?Whoa. Currently own almost 30 bikes, ranging from Cr 500 street legal Supermoto, to 65mph Puch Magnums. Here are some other samples: Honda NS50f, ysr50, rd60, Kawasaki AR80....& many morescotthmoore22@yahoo.comnot sure...I'm looking for riders from Cali, back to NY585-775-9701My moped and scooter pals have outgrown short trips. It's time to go trans-continental. If we can't meet up this year, I'm down for next year. I'm a teacher, and have summers off. Please contact me if three is anyone I can ride with back from California, to NY.
As mentioned above, I should pop out of the tat in early August.

Also, I am using your SD Card maps for the tat, any chance you have the scooter route on SD Card (for purchase or download)

CaryFacerOrange, CA USVery little riding history. I am however very comfortable with motorsports. I grew up racing go-karts and drag racing and also was a trucker for 3 years. Again very little on 2 wheels but enough to know I am comfortable with the idea of riding all day long on a scooter.

I am also Steve Lorenze's nephew in-law (I think). Steve's niece is my wife. I'd be joining Steve and Danny Lorenze on this adventure.
Always love a new challenge. Growing up I've raced bmx, go karts, and drag cars. I've done 10 solo skydives, backpacked Europe, and many many road trips. This sounds like a fantastic challenge for me. I have a lot of States and sites to see on my bucket list. I hope this trip checks a few of those off.

Thank you.
Had a 100 cc dirt bike as a kid but most of my motorsports experience is on 4 wheels. I do ride my father in-laws '04 4 stroke yamaha at the river every once in a while.caryfacer@gmail.comSteve and Danny Lorenze714-504-1240Because I don't have a ton of experience on dirt bikes so this is one ride I feel very comfortable pulling off. Thank you for taking the time to review this!

KevinLinCovina, CA, LANone. Unless, you would consider bicycle as some sort of riding experience. My parents are from Taiwan. The most common way of transportation is scooters. I never really had a opportunity to ride one, except for a couple minutes when I was in middle school.1. I have never been to other parts of America, except Nevada and Arizona. I believe this would be the perfect opportunity to go and see all the places across America.
2. I have always wanted to get a motorcycle too. I am going to start preparing for this ride by getting a motorcycle soon.
3. I think American culture has a lot to do with exploration. I was not born and raised in America. I only just moved to US about 8 years ago. This trip is going to help me learn more about American spirit.

Went to the end of the road on Saint James Bay in Canada. Many multi week trip throughout the east coast from Ohio to Florida. Scooter trips have been mostly local but I think this is just epic enough to be fun! Have traveled across the country in cars and trucks many times. I want to see how many different modes of transport I can get across the country on. Scooters, bicycle, on foot.
I have completed many marathons and have done Florida Ironman (2008), Lake Placis Ironman (2009) and Kona Ironman (2010).

Presently I ride a Triumph Tiger 1050 and past bikes are a BMW R1100RS, Yamaha FZ1, Aprilia Falco. Never owned a scooter but it might be time to buy one.... something interesting for sure!I've gotten old enough to know that if I don't do it now.... then when? JimPolitiEndwell, NYI've been riding motorcycles for the last 7 years. I normally put between 15-20K a year combined on my current 3 bikes (Triumph Tiger 1050, DR650 and Aprilia Mojito 150). I've done a 3 week trip out west on my Tiger and various eastern trips as well. For the last few years the DR has been getting more action off road so the Tiger sits more. The scoot really needs to go on a trip.Multiple trips on my motorcycles have really opened my eyes up to the adventure of motorcycle travel. ADV Rider has been instrumental in opening my eyes. Your ride report was great BTW and I'd be honored to ride with you. Here's a few links to my rides on ADV if you're interested.

Ninja 500, Triumph Sprint 955, Triumph Sprint 1050. Currently own Tiger 1050, DR650 and Aprilia Mojitojpoliti@stny.rr.com607-222-8724Because riding across America on big bikes is too easy;-)
My Mojito seems to be very reliable and I'd trust it for a trip like this but I'm seriously looking for a Scarabeo. If I find one that would be my preferred scoot for a trip like this.
Can't say I'm 100% certain I can make this ride but I'm intrigued and was planning on making a cross country trip this summer on the Tiger. I would love to ride the scoot across with other like minded people and the NY starting point is very convenient.

JohnMorrowTascott NSW AustraliaAs a young man (teenage to twenties) I rode for approximately 5 years. At first on a 90CC Honda road bike and then Honda 250CC road bike.

Now 70 years old - Retiree
Returned to riding and bike ownership in 2011 riding at first a Honda CT110
and then my current ride of 4 years Triumph Bonneville which is in regular use including occasional day rides of 300miles +
As a retiree increased leisure time has allowed me to enjoy motorcycling again in recent years.

Joining a group ride such as "Scooters Across America" with the associated support and organization will allow me to experience some unique parts of the US with a group of like minded people in a way that would be difficult alone.
Past bikes - Honda C90, Honda CB72 Honda CT110 - Current Bike - Triumph Bonneville 2001jodesmo@cirruscomms.com.auTravelling alone61 427 703 892Scooters would not have been my natural choice to do the ride but I discovered the ride through having read the 2014 Father and Son preparation ride report (ADVrider forum) and while at the time I had no plan to take on such a ride, the benefits and sense of accomplishment in using scooters are evident in that story.

"The trip of a lifetime"
Purchase/disposal of a suitable scooter will require some careful planning.

Information re any company that might assist with purchase on the East coast and buy back on the West coast would be appreciated.

I anticipate that my active membership of the Triumph.rat forum will assist in acquisition of a scooter. They are a helpful group and there has already been discussion of the ride there.

GaryVan ArsdaleHB, CAStarted out riding mini bikes at 12 years old. Rode district 37 desert enduros at 15 and have been off-road riding anywhere and everywhere ever since! (I'm really old now) I love the excitement of an unknown adventure! Like what's around the next corner? I've been on numerous rides with Kevin G and others in many different states and it's always different and challenging. So this kind of ride is right up my alley. I once took a year off work (when I was 30), and sailed from Long Beach, CA to Florida so I love to "roll the dice" sometimes and this seems like another exciting opportunity to see different places and meet new faces. Along with the fact that when I told my 22 yr. old daughter about it she said, "Dad there's no way your doing this without me"! So hanging out with her for 16 days is sure to add to this adventure! Frijole mini bike, Yamaha 80,100,250,350. Honda 250 Elsinore (still have), CR 500, Ktm 250, 520, 525. BrookeElseWestchester, IL 60154I started riding about 4 years ago and I really love it. I ride as much as I can (as long as there's no ice on the roads). I ride every day as means to get around to work, errands, etc. Additionally, on the weekends, I explore (farther away from home) around on my bike. I really enjoy taking "the long way" everywhere I go, taking backroads through small towns and tooling around on my bike. Two of my favorite things in the world are travel and my moped! I've travled all over the country and I've scooted all over my region. Last month I was at the International Motorcycle Show in Chicago and wound up talking to a bunch of people who had apparently met GPS kevin and told me that this trip sounded perfect for me, they gave me his card and after looking up what I could about the trip it really does sound like somethign i'd really enjoy. I'd really love the opportunity to meet some other people who enjoy these things as much as I do.
