Letters of intent should state what the candidate hopes to achieve and what contribution they think they can make to the Conference and should include details of the applicant's journalistic experience and skills, familiarity with word-processing, desktop publishing, photography and photo editing programs, and/or video and video-editing programs. Furthermore, it is advantageous if candidates have MUN experience and knowledge of current events. Applicants are encouraged to send samples of their work as outlined on page 13 of the Administrative Handbook to
munityeast@gmail.com with "Sample work for APPLICANT'S FIRST AND LAST NAME, GRADE, and SCHOOL" in the subject line.
MUN-Directors or teachers who know the candidate well should include in their recommendations references to the candidates' academic performance, school and extra-curricular activities, and hopefully give the reader(s) an impression of why the candidate would make a good MUNITY Press Delegate. Where there is more than one application from one school, MUN-Directors must rank order. Because the editors try to include members from every school, it is unlikely that we will accept more than 3-5 from any one school.
Recommendation references should be emailed directly from the school's MUN adviser to
munityeast@gmail.com with "Recommendation reference for APPLICANT'S FIRST AND LAST NAME, GRADE, and SCHOOL" in the subject line.
