Graduate Student Preferred. Under the supervision of the Facilities & Informal Recreation Coordinator, the Facility Coordinator Assistant is responsible for clerical tasks, management of EMS, and program oversight of Campus Recreation activities taking place in the Gymnasium. This person will work with effectively with a diverse college student population in an urban and multicultural environment. Through a strong commitment to excellence, this position with assist the Facilities & Informal Recreation Coordinator in providing support and leadership to programming areas of the Campus Recreation Department. 50% Clerical: Assist with the gymnasium & outdoor facilities calendar, along with managing online facility request. Post schedules and/or updates throughout the facilities. Manage open gym attendants clip boards: insuring all necessary items are accounted for. Conduct research through means of surveys and data analysis. Prepare items such as power point slides for weekly facility manager meetings. Assist in the development of new process and procedures that relate to Campus Recreation programming. Assist the Facilities & Informal Rec Coordinator with day to day job functions.Other job responsibilities include: filing, copying, answering the telephone, and assisting with special projects.Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.Strong typing and data entry skills is required. 30% EMS Program Management: Upload various activity schedules into the event management system. Work directly with the Facilities & Informal Rec Coordinator in accommodating gymnasium and outdoor facilities request. Acquire competency in EMS to fully function and operate the system on an as need bases. 20% Other Duties as Assigned: Additional job responsibilities include program oversight of all Campus Recreation activities taking place in the Gymnasium Building. Ensure the safety and security of all program participants, front line staff, and program equipment. Monitor program activity, locking/unlocking rooms, recording participant number, and writing reports. Oversee student organization facility usage and assist with tournaments, special events, and tabling.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office; possess the ability to function independently, multi-task, and follow through with assigned tasks. Ability to work in a fast pace environment. Have strong organizational skills and good communication skills. Possess strong written and verbal skills. Must have current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications. Must be a currently enrolled student at SFSU. Campus Recreation is looking for student workers who are friendly, motivated, well-organized, and have the ability to work under pressure while maintaining a professional attitude. Must be a current SFSU student enrolled in a minimum of 6 units.

Pay Range

Compensation based on experience.

Days/Hours Per Week

10 - 20 hours a week. Weekly hours will fluctuate.
