"Crafting a Short: How to Find Your Story and Make It a Movie" is a workshop brought to you in partnership by The American Film Institute Directing Workshop for Women and The Athena Film Festival. The American Film Institute Directing Workshop for Women will be hosting the workshop at the 2013 Athena Film Festival: a celebration of women and leadership. The workshop, which will will take place on February 8, 2013 from 10am-1pm at Barnard College in NYC, will accept a maximum of 24 participants. Applications are open to female filmmakers (writers/directors/producers) of all levels that have a short film idea they would like to develop into a script. Three spaces will be reserved for Barnard students. Applications are due by midnight on December 15, 2012. Selected participants will be notified in mid-January, 2013. AFI Directing Workshop for Women (www.afi.com/dww) has been a major force in training women in narrative filmmaking since 1974.
