Dr. Peggy G. Lemaux, a faculty member in the Department of Plant and Microbial Biology at the University of California, Berkeley, will share a quick background on genes, genetics and genetic engineering (aka biotechnology, GMOs). She will explore which GE (GM) crops have been commercialized for foods and those which might be in the future. These points will lead into the labeling issue with GE foods.
