LGBT PKs: Coming Out in Faith

Thank you for taking part in this survey. My name is Sam Brink, and I am on staff for the American Baptist Churches of Wisconsin. My son Andrew and I have been reflecting on his journey of faith as an LGBT PK, and we started to wonder what the journey has been like for other LGBT PKs. This survey is our attempt to begin a conversation about the experience of LGBT PKs. While the final product of this survey will depend on the information we gather, our vision is to use this information to create workshops and writings that could be helpful to clergy families and congregations as they explore what it means to be a family and/or a community of faith. We have also talked about creating a network of LGBT PKs for further support and/or advocacy. We realize that everyone’s journey is different, but we also know there are commonalities. In order to discover these similarities and differences, we have written broad survey questions that attempt to cover as much ground as possible in the hope of creating a more complete picture of your journey. Some questions will pertain to your experience, others will not. In either case, Andrew and I hope you will feel safe sharing your journey with us. Thank you again for taking the time to share your story with us and contributing to a conversation we believe is vital. We are excited to see where this conversation leads us. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at my e-mail address:
