Student Leader Application

Orientation Discovery Leaders will welcome students to campus during Orientation . They work with the First Year Students one–on–one and show them what CU is all about! Not only will this be a great leadership opportunity, but you will also be given free summer housing and meals.

Qualifications:

Must have a cumulative GPA of a 2.0 or higher Must have completed at least one semester at Cheyney University Must be a continuing student at Cheyney University in Fall 2013 Must be an excellent communicator who is energetic, personable, and reliable Own khaki and or black colored Pants or Knee length shorts Must be able to work the entire summer (i.e., not be involved in any outside meetings, classes or other activities that may intrude with the Orientation schedule) Must not have any open judicials.

Responsibilities:

 Be punctual, reliable, and conscientious in the performance of all responsibilities  Attend all Orientation training sessions  Prepare Orientation and Discovery week materials (stuff folders, make name tags, etc.) and assist with orientation logistics  Welcoming and transitioning students and families to campus during Orientation  Familiarize new students and families with campus services, activities, and building locations  Facilitate ice breakers and team building activities with new students and families  Preform skits surrounding first year student concerns  Learn and perform the Cheyney Shuffle  Must be able to live on campus from June 23, 2013 until July 31, 2013  Must be able to attend all Orientation dates from 7:00am to 5:00pm  All other duties as assigned

Time Commitment

Orientation Weekdays from June 23rd 2013 to July 31st 2012

Application Timeline

 Applicants must complete the Student Leader application and reference sheet by April 5, 2013.  Applicants must provide the name and contact information of one reference.  Interviews will be conducted April 10, 2013.
