CAR FREE SPOT REGISTRATION FORM

TRANSFORM AN EVERYDAY PARKING SPACE INTO A CAR FREE SPOT IN CONJUNCTION WITH CENTRAL OHIO CAR FREE DAY FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2012, 11:30 AM TO 1:30 PM The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) and many partners are organizing Car Free Day to encourage Central Ohioans to reduce or eliminate the use of their car on Friday, September 21 to promote improved air quality and better ways to get to work. In conjunction with that message, we are coordinating a community-wide initiative to transform an everyday parking spot into something fun and creative to demonstrate what our neighborhoods could look like with fewer cars on the road. Car Free Spots will create a very visual, unique car-free message throughout Central Ohio. We encourage you to consider transforming a parking space near you into a Car Free Spot. There are several options for getting involved with this fun initiative: 1. Select a metered parking space within the City of Columbus and MORPC will purchase a permit to temporarily remove metered parking and transform that spot into a Car Free Spot. 2. If you are not in the City of Columbus, you can purchase a permit to temporarily remove metered parking through your city permitting office and transform a parking space into a Car Free Spot. 3. Transform a spot in your office parking lot into a Car Free Spot. Regardless what option you choose, we encourage you to register your space below, so we can create a map of all of the participating locations and encourage the public to visit all the Car Free Spots during their lunch break between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Registration is requested by Thursday, September 13, 2012. The information that you fill out below will be used to correspond about the Car Free Spots. An email will be sent to the contact person listed below with more details about the event. Questions?
