Petition: Everton Football Club needs Paul McCartney to save the team from bankruptcy
We, the fans of the Everton Football Club, the fans of the English Premier League and the fans of the game of football/soccer, are creating this petition.
We deserve to be heard by club management and Chairman Bill Kenwright, to discuss the team being approached by an investment consortium led by Ukrainian billionaire Oleg Bakhmatyuk with intent to purchase.
We, the fans, have started a petition to appeal to Beatles legend and Liverpool native son Paul McCartney to purchase our illustrious football club. We believe the team could face serious financial disaster in the hands of Mr. Bakhmatyuk and Bakhmatyuk's company, Avangardco Investments.
Finding a buyer for Everton has been very difficult given the added financing required to build the club the new, modern stadium it needs and we, the fans, have grown furious over protracted effort in selling the team.
That is why we are turning our hopes to Sir Paul, one of the most gifted musicians and one of our greatest humanitarians around the world.
Scandals have erupted in areas around the world tied to Bakhmatyuk and Avangardco's nefarious business dealings resulting in over 1,000 U.S. farm owners' and workers and over 3,000 farm workers in Ukraine to lose their jobs. We, the fans want to avoid being punished by Mr. Bakhmatyuk in the same way his greedy endeavors have punished so many others.
These are not empty threats and all of the signers of this petition will stand by the above written statements. If ownership of Everton is handed over to Mr. Bakhmatyuk, we, the fans, will go on strike. We will not purchase tickets to team matches, purchase any team-related merchandise and discontinue any support for the team whatsoever.
The more signatures we gather, the greater the pressure on the current management to strike a free; with another buyer as quickly as is possible. Until this occurs, we will be stead in our collectively as ex-Evertonians.
