PK-3 Subtest 2: Language Arts and Reading
Committees of Florida subject matter experts convened at the Florida Department of Education (DOE) in Tallahassee, FL, throughout Spring 2011 and Spring 2012 in order to revise the competencies and skills for the Prekindergarten/Primary PK-3 (PK-3) exam. The committees used the new Florida Educator Accomplished Practices (FEAPs), Common Core Standards, and other appropriate standards (e.g., NAEYC, NGSSS) to guide the revision of the PK-3 examination into four subtests:

Subtest 1: Developmental Knowledge
Subtest 2: Language Arts and Reading
Subtest 3: Mathematics
Subtest 4: Science

The competencies and skills will serve as the basis for future test development activities and will go to the State Board of Education (SBE) for approval in July 2012. The finalized and approved competencies and skills will be posted to the DOE's website in August 2012.

In this survey you are asked to review and comment on the draft competencies and skills. All information collected will be reported as group data.
