Connecticut Counseling Association Newtown Referral List
The Connecticut Counseling Association is deeply saddened by the tragic school shooting in Newtown, CT and is in need of identifying Licensed Professional Counselors in the Greater Newtown area who are available and trained to work with the survivors including children, adults and emergency responders. We are specifically looking to identify counselors with expertise and experience in treating PTSD and can provide evidence of specialized training as in EMDR or Trauma Informed Art Therapy.

CCA has partnered with the Newtown Lion's Club who have established a fund to cover counseling expenses not covered by health insurance or for the uninsured and under-insured, for first responders, children and immediate family members or staff from the Sandy Hook Elementary School.

The referral list will be provided to the public, will be posted on the CCA website and participants will charge their normal counseling rates. It is the client's responsibility to access the Newtown Lion's Club Sandy Hook Elementary Fund (SHEF) for reimbursement.

For any questions, please contact CCA Executive Director Deb Del Vecchio-Scully, LPC at 1.888.818.1110 or cca_exec_dir@msn.com
