Orientation Leader/ GPS Navigator Application
We are looking for a new group of enthusiastic, energetic, team players to join our Orientation Leader and/or GPS Navigator team.
*ACTIVE RECRUITING MONTHS ARE OCTOBER AND APRIL.*
You can apply throughout the year but we will actively take a look at your application during the recruitment months.
As an Orientation Leader you become a Student Ambassador of CCNY and provide a positive orientation experience for our incoming students.
As a GPS Navigator you will be a peer mentor for incoming freshman students guiding them through a successful semester at CCNY.
In being apart of these programs, you will obtain new leadership skills, learn more about the CCNY community and become more involved in what's happening on campus. These are only a few of the many opportunities these positions have to offer!
Position Eligibility:
1) Must be a CCNY Student
2) Must be an Undergraduate Student [Must commit to TWO consecutive orientation seasons]
3) Must be a student in good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 2.5
4) Must attend the leadership workshop session Friday, May 10th, 2019

The City College of New York provides a comprehensive orientation program designed to prepare incoming students to meet the academic challenges of college life, familiarize them with campus resources and positively connect them to the rich, vibrant and diverse City College community. The New Student Orientation program includes facilitating the transition of new students into the institution; preparing students for educational opportunities and student responsibilities and initiating the integration of new students into the intellectual, cultural, and social climate of The City College of New York.
The GPS Program is the Growth and Professional Success Program consisting of a GPS Navigator that is a specially selected and trained peer mentor who supports, guides, and mentors new freshmen. They also introduce new freshmen to CCNY resources and suggests successful academic strategies. GPS Navigators not only navigate their mentees around the campus but also through their academic careers as a freshman--helping them grow into professional and successful individuals.
