APPLICATION FOR CUNY ACCELERATED STUDY IN ASSOCIATE PROGRAMS (ASAP) - QUEENSBOROUGH COMMUNITY COLLEGE
This is an online form application for the CUNY Accelerated Study in Associate Programs (ASAP). Please complete this form in order to be considered for ASAP.
○ Students must complete all CUNY admissions requirements, including the CUNY Assessment Test. ○ All students must be a New York City resident. ○ All students must agree to enter into an Associates degree program (A.A., A.S., or A.A.S.) on a full-time basis (minimum 12 credits per semester) in an ASAP-approved major. ○ Current CUNY or transfer students may have 15 or fewer college credits at the completion of the spring 2013 semester. Continuing students must have a GPA of 2.0 or above and be able to take a full-time course load in fall 2013. ○ Students must receive some need-based financial aid as determined through completion of the Federal Assistance for Student Aid (FAFSA) form and a New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) application (1). ○ All students must be fully skills proficient or have no more than two outstanding developmental course needs based on their scores on the CUNY Assessment Tests in reading, writing and math. ASAP APPLICATION PROCESS AND CHECKLIST
Prior to submitting an ASAP application, please be sure you have completed the following steps: 1. Completed all CUNY admissions requirements 2. Taken the CUNY Skills Assessment Test 3. Submitted the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) online at www.fafsa.ed.gov and www.hesc.com 4. Signed up for an Information Session by checking one of the dates listed on the RSVP page In order for your application to be reviewed, you must submit the following items at your scheduled Information Session: ○ Proof of New York City Residency (NYS driver's license, utility bill, tax return, etc.) ○ Copy of a completed FAFSA form and TAP application (not required for undocumented students; please speak to ASAP staff for alternative documentation) Please keep a copy of all submitted documents for your own records. Scheduled Meeting: Once a completed ASAP application has been received, prospective students will be contacted by ASAP to discuss program requirements and to review documents. Deadline: ASAP acceptance will be on a rolling basis until all spots are filled. Early submission of financial aid and ASAP application is strongly recommended.
