The Community Water Solutions Fellowship Program is a three-week water education and leadership training experience in Northern Region Ghana. The purpose of the fellowship is to teach individuals about the global water crisis, and inspire them to become leaders in the field of international development. If chosen as a Fellow, you will be assigned to a team of three other Fellows, who you will work with for the rest of the program. Each Fellow must raise the $3,000 Fellowship Fee* before traveling to Ghana. On the ground, your team will first be trained in water quality testing and the CWS water treatment methods. You will then spend two weeks in the field implementing and monitoring a CWS water treatment business in a rural village. Once implemented, these businesses will provide a permanent source of safe drinking water for the entire community.
The 2012 Fall Fellowship Program will take place from October 10th - 31st. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis with a final deadline of Monday July 30th at 5pm EST. In addition to this online application, you are required to submit a cover letter, resume, and letter of recommendation. Please email these documents to:
fellowship@communitywatersolutions.org with the subject line CWS FALL FELLOWSHIP APPLICATION: Your First Initial. You last name.
Please note that you will not be able to save this online application and come back to work on it later. We recommend copying and pasting the the questions into a word doc while you are working on your answers.

sderrick@communitywatersolutions.org*Please note that the $3,000/person Fellowship Tutition will cover all of the your in-country expenses (including lodging, food, travel and project expenses) but it will not cover the cost of your airfare to Ghana. Since applications are being accepted on a rolling basis, the amount of time that you will have to fundraise will be based on when you apply and are accepted into the program. If you are unable to raise enough funds to cover the entire fellowship fee, you will be responsible for covering the remaining balance before traveling to Ghana. However, once you return home, you will be able to continue to fundraise and CWS will reimburse you for any additional donations that are made on your behalf. If you raise more than the required $3,000, the extra funds will be donated to Community Water Solutions to help us grow the Fellowship Program so we can offer this opportunity to more young people.
