REGISTRATION: Race, Racism and Quentin Tarantino

Quentin Tarantino’s films have been called the cinema of cool. They’re highly stylized, aggressive, violent, and darkly comic. They’re also racial – and, if you ask some people, racist. But what’s the difference between racist writing and writing racism? We’ll watch excerpts from each of his films and discuss. **This course meets M,W,F January 14th to January 25th, 2013 from 10:00a.m-12:00 p.m. Location: The Locke Room in the Barker Center Instructor: Jason Silverstein (jbs351@mail.harvard.edu)
