Journalism Education Under Assault Survey
From budget woes to censorship issues, it is a challenging time for high school and college student media throughout California. During the last year, programs and student news outlets have been threatened, ceased publication or abolished with little or no input from journalism advisers and professors. This fall, the California Journalism Education Coalition (Cal-JEC) is planning two events for advisers/teachers in Northern and Southern California to discuss concerns and problems, learn from each other, and offer solutions as we move forward. The meeting is planned for Sacramento on Sept. 21 and at CSU Northridge on Oct. 19. To start, we need your input so we can plan productive sessions. Please take a few minutes to fill out this form. We will be in touch soon with details about the meetings.
