Interviews will take place the week of March 12 and selection will be made by Monday, March 19. We are looking for energetic, creative, fun people who are passionate about Acumen Fund and its values. The leadership role duration is a minimum of one year, with an expected commitment of approximately 5-10 hours/week and closer to 10 hours/week in the month leading up to the event you lead. (Please note, the weekly time commitment will vary throughout the year depending on the events schedule). Details of the specific roles are included below. Leadership Team Role Descriptions

We have a number of roles available on the Leadership Team, including: - Communications/Community Engagement (2 people, year-round) - This role is responsible for managing BOSTON+acumen's online presence (Facebook, Twitter, Acumen Fund community site), developing a monthly newsletter and/or blog, managing external communications to our community through the Acumen email, and event communications. - Pillar Events Lead (2-3 people, 4 events per year) - This role is responsible for organizing events around the themes of Acumen Fund's portfolios (e.g. water, energy, housing, health and agriculture). - Fundraiser Lead (1 person, 1 event per year) - This role is responsible for planning our main annual fundraiser, most likely the DIGNITY Photo Exhibition Event. Responsibilities include overseeing the entire event, from planning to process to execution, in addition to managing a dedicated event team. - Salon Dinner/Acumen 101 & 102 Lead (2-3 people, 2 salon dinners and 4 acumen 101/201s per year) - This role is responsible for leading Acumen 101 & 102 events to educate those in the Boston community who are interested in learning more about the work that Acumen Fund does, as well as those who are interested in learning more details about some of Acumen's specific investments. In addition, this role will also be responsible for organizing salon dinners. A salon dinner is a dinner and conversation event focused on a specified topic that typically embodies an Acumen Fund value. . These dinners spur moral imagination and challenge people to think about poverty, business and the relationship that exists between them in new ways. - Case Competition/Venture Pitch Lead (1 person, 1 event per year) - This role is responsible for developing and leading a case competition or venture pitch competition, engaging students and/or social entrepreneurs in the Boston area with an opportunity to use their creativity and business acumen to tackle issues of social poverty.
