A STUDY ON COGNITIVE DISSONANCE AMONG HR PROFESSIONALS

Dear Sir/ Madam, Following is a questionnaire to assess and analyse the level of dissonance levels among hr professionals. COGNITIVE DISSONANCE is a psychological discomfort when an individual’s values/beliefs/attitudes conflicts with his/her behavior (actions).e.g. A person who has his /her own ethical values may have to fire many number of employees during downsizing for the sake of the company’s benefit. In a professional work environment there may be such instances where dissonance occurs i.e. where a person acts against his/her own values, beliefs and attitudes. REDUCING DISSONANCE is very much necessary to strike a balance between one’s behavior and values/beliefs/ attitudes and it involve various methods like changing your actions to suit opinions, changing the environment you work in, justifying your actions or altering your values and opinions etc. Please fill in the entire questionnaire and provide your most spontaneous responses. The data obtained is purely for academic purposes only. Confidentiality of responses will be best assured. Thank you for your time. -Researcher: Varun Kumar E, II MSW (Aided), Madras School of Social Work Email: varunkumar05@gmail.com. Mobile: 91-9940219345
