USGBC Idaho Green Apple Day of Service
Thanks for your interest in volunteering for a 1 hour time slot at our booth at the Capital City Public Market on Saturday September 29th in Boise. Your role will be to answer questions about the chapter. Please fill out the form and we look forward to seeing you at the market. You'll receive information about where to meet soon.

On Sept. 29, 2012, the Center for Green Schools at the U.S. Green Building Council will host the first ever Green Apple Day of Service. For one day, advocates from across the country and around the world will come together in support of healthy, sustainable schools by taking real action in their communities.

The USGBC Idaho Chapter Green Schools Advocacy Committee is participating in the Green Apple Day of Service on Sept. 29, Saturday, by sponsoring an environmentally savvy scavenger hunt for kids at the Capital City Public Market in Downtown Boise and giving away environmentally inspired prizes.   At this event, the committee will also be launching the first ever Idaho Green Schools Challenge.  The competition will run from September 2012 to February 2013.  Entire schools, individual grades, environmental clubs, or individual classrooms can register their project, obtain a dedicated mentor from USGBC Idaho Chapter, and submit their project for the chance to win an award/trophy and cash prize. The emphasis is on creating a no-cost or low-cost project that can make a measurable and significant beneficial impact to their school/community.
