Photography-in-the-Park Registration Form
<p style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:14px; line-height:110%;">The Photography-in-the-Park event on Saturday, September 15, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., provided by the Fort Snelling State Park Photography Club, is for members of the Twin Cities Area Council of Camera Clubs (TCACCC), camera clubs associated with TCACCC and up to two guests you would like to invite who are also interested in photography. <strong>Seating is limited for some sessions, so please register by Friday, September 7, using the form below so we can plan accordingly.</strong></p>
<p style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:14px; line-height:110%;">Vehicle check-in begins at 8 a.m. at the entrance to Fort Snelling State Park next to the main ranger station building at the bottom of the hill. Please bring your camera, fresh camera batteries, memory and/or film, pencil / notepad, and a bag/picnic lunch. Also wear appropriate clothing. This is a rain or shine event.</p>

Intro to Photoshop CS6 for Photographers
This class will be divided into two sections. The first section will be a review of the tools used to touch up photographs with particular emphasis on cloning and healing techniques. The second section will showcase the concepts of the Content Aware options of Scaling, Filling and Moving. This class is structured for new and novice users of Photoshop and most material will be applicable to users with earlier versions of Photoshop. (Presenter: Rikk Flohr)
Basic Photoshop CS6 for Photographers
This class will focus on the use of layers in a non-destructive workflow and will cover the concepts of adjustment layers, layer masks, blend modes and other techniques. This class is structured for new and novice users of Photoshop and most material will be applicable to users with earlier versions of Photoshop. (Presenter: Rikk Flohr)
Deer wildlife walk
Take this opportunity to meet and photograph one of the whitetail families that call the park home. With luck, meet Beggar, a 10 year old doe and her extended family.  Also you may have the opportunity to see and photograph one of the bucks in the park that has been featured on the covers of national magazines. Owl Behavior and Photography
John A. Anderson will share information about the where, when and how of photographing owls in their natural setting.   This workshop provides detailed information about owl habits and behaviors,  how to locate owls and the unique challenges associated with owl photography. Raptor Center Presentation
The Raptor Center will be bringing live owls, bald eagles and other birds of prey. This presentation will include information on their habits, behaviors and what they eat among other information. Two one-half hour presentations will be given with an hour in between for you to photograph these beautiful birds against the backdrop of Fort Snelling State Park.
Naturalist Presentation
Fort Snelling's resident naturalist will lead participants on a tour through part of Fort Snelling State Park. Along the way you will learn some of the history of the area and have several opportunities for taking photographs along the tour. (Kao Thao)
Fort Snelling History Walk
Learn about and take pictures of Fort Snelling. A tour will be given of the Fort property overlooking Fort Snelling State Park and the Mississippi River. You will learn about the history of the Fort property, its future, and you will have many opportunities for photographing one of the most historic locations in the Twin Cities. Macro Photography
Photography is often as much about managing compromise as it is art and macro photography is a particularly demanding form of photography. Depth-of-focus is measured in millimeters. Flash is often required and background lighting is critical. Subjects are often wary and equipment bulky and hard to manage. Yet, the macro photographer finds thousands of subjects just outside the doors in a tiny wilderness of great beauty and populated by both prey and predators. Join photographer Gordon Dietzman as he describes how he manages the compromises, finds his subjects, and moves the measure of success from simple documentation to art. Portrait Photography in Natural Settings
An opportunity to learn from a portrait photographer about outdoor portraiture, manipulating available light for portraits that "pop", and dealing with sometimes complicated lighting situations.
