Engineering Council Publicity Committee oversees the publication of the E-Book, distributes college-wide mass emails and organizes the Engineering Council society/committee pictures.
Position Descriptions:
Design & Layout: The design & layout chair is charge of the design of the E-Book. The chair designs the cover, weekly view pages and ensures that the layout of the E-Book is attractive. The chair also inputs all the content, advertisements and information into the E-Book. Knowledge of Microsoft Publisher, Adobe Photoshop or other similar softwares is helpful, but not required.
Corporate: The corporate chair(s) is tasked with finding sponsorship for the E-Book. The chair(s) will be required to contact corporate and local sponsors. Good communication skills are required for the position.
Information: The information chair is responsible for all the events/dates that are in the E-Book. The chair is also be responsible for the monthly blurbs that are located on the month calendar page. The chair would update the engineering societies, College of Engineering and its affiliated departments information in the back of the E-Book.
Content: The content chair is responsible for games, puzzles and quotes that are placed in the E-Book. The content chair would also update the Engineering Department and bus routes information in the back of the E-Book.
Display Case: The display case chair is responsible for updating the Engineering Council display case located in engineering hall monthly. The display case chair would also be expected to assist the other members of the committee when requested.
Creativity: The creativity chair is in charge of the fun, engaging pages between the months in the E-Book to bring together the theme. The creativity chair is also be responsible for designing and purchasing committee swag.
Social Media: The social media chair is tasked with maintaining and updating contents on Engineering Council's Facebook and Twitter accounts. The chair is also charged with reaching out and creating a more integrated social networking platform for Engineering Council and engineering societies. Experience in maintaining social media (i.e. blogs) is beneficial.
Webmaster: The webmaster would be required to update the EC Publicity and E-Book websites as required over the academic year.
Society Interaction: The society interaction chair would be required to work with the Vice President of EC in order to make sure that information about all EC member societies is kept updated and weekly emails are sent out correctly. When needed, the chair would also be expected to meet with society interaction chairs of other committees to promote society outreach.
