Reinhardt Outdoors - Horseback Riding Trip - Fort Mountain State Park
Trip Date: Saturday, October 27
Nestled in the North Georgia Mountains, Fort Mountain State Park is a treasure to explore. What better way than on horseback? Fort Mountain Stables offers guided horseback riding adventures on 25 miles of scenic trails. Our trails include old talc mine shafts where you can experience Mother Nature’s air conditioner in the summer and heater in the winter, scenic overlooks and waterfalls. Wildlife has been known to venture out to greet their guests of the forest. You could see deer, turkey or bear strolling through the park. Fort Mountain derives its name from an ancient 855-foot-long rock wall which stands on the highest point of the mountain. The mysterious wall is thought to have been built by Indians as fortification against other more hostile Indians or for ancient ceremonies. Situated in the Chattahoochee National Forest close to the Cohutta Wilderness area.
