KMSPA 2012-2013 5th & 6th Grade Performing Arts Survey
Dear Parents and Families,
As your child progresses from the general performing arts program into the 5th-8th grade majors program, it is important that they reflect on their experiences with you. They will need your help and support in making their training decisions.
In the 5th and 6th grades, all students focus on three (3) areas of the performing arts for the entire year.
Now is the time for students to choose their areas of concentration for the upcoming school year. This is one of the most important choices that your child will make in their training.
Students must choose with their hearts. What do they love to do? What areas of the arts do they talk about most at home? What excites them?
Please read the directions on the survey carefully and have the students rank their areas of interest.
The deadline for completing this survey is May 11, 2012.
If you have questions, please call me at 860-695-4185.
Thank you and good luck!
Eddie Duran, Artistic Director
R. J. Kinsella Magnet School of Performing Arts
This is a performing arts survey. Please rank the areas of concentration in order of your interest.
KMSPA runs on a 6-day schedule. Students will participate in 3 of the Performing Arts during the 6-day schedule.
Every student participates in dance classes for two of the 6-day schedule. Students will attend two other Performing Arts for two days each.
If you play an instrument, you are strongly encouraged to continue the instrument in the 5th and 6th grade.
Drama: Drama students will explore various acting and directing styles, devised theater, contemporary & classical scripts, and improvisation. Students will work with both drama teachers over the course of the school year.
