12. Once in her apartment, Luz connects her body to the net via implanted nodes in her body and puts a record of her memories of meeting Memo up for sale on the net.

13. Rudy travels to Mexico to find Memo. He finds him at the Central Market but Memo runs away.

14. Memo leaves for the northern city of Tijuana to find work to help his family.

15. Memo Cruz dreams of leaving his small village, Santa Ana del Rio, and finding work in the hi-tech factories in the big cities in the north of Mexico.

16. Rudy “disappears” by taking a bus to the South of Mexico. Luz and Memo are reunited, and Memo begins planting beans and maize in memory of his father.
