Spartanburg Writing Project Fall Renewal 2012: "Authentic Reading, Writing and Research: Because Literacy IS the Common Core!"

SWP hosts annual conferences to provide quality staff development for educators in the upstate and across SC. Each session is expected to maintain a high quality of professional development providing our attendees information that can be useful in the classroom or school setting. Sessions are carefully selected to present a broad perspective of improving literacy across the grade spans and instructional areas.

Call for Conference Proposals Deadline: September 14, 2012

Concurrent sessions are 50 minute workshops to showcase instructional strategies related to Common Core State Standards literacy instruction, including reading, writing and research in all disciplines and across all grade levels.

Note to Presenters

Applications will be evaluated and selected based on quality and thoroughness of the submission, relevance to current instructional best practice and CCSS, and availability of conference space. Concurrent sessions will be 50 minutes in length and presenters will be notified of session acceptance no later than September 14, 2012. Presenters are not required to pay the conference registration, but are required to submit acknowledgement of session acceptance via email no later than September 21, 2012.

Presentation Equipment

Concurrent sessions will have a computer with speakers, screen, and multimedia projector available. You can request additional equipment by contacting tthomas@uscupstate.edu, and will be notified if the equipment can be made available.
