Manufacturing Technologies
By 2035, GDP of our country is expected to grow 8-10 times from present USD 1.2 trillion and manufacturing would expectedly be a major wealth-producing sector in the economy.  Besides catering to the needs of 150 crore consumers then, manufacturing would be providing important material support for national infrastructure and strategic sectors as well. The sector would open up huge employment opportunities, create a demand for skilled workforce and affect the socio-economic milieu. However, most manufacturing involves significant social and environmental costs. This together with challenges posed by competitiveness from within and overseas would force exploration of new technologies for the manufacturing sector in its entirety.  We seek your views, through a set of questions- on the Manufacturing Technologies- as they should evolve to meet the aspirations of India. Kindly try to respond keeping the 2035 perspective in mind by ticking the appropriate response.
