BFC Fall 2013 Application
Hi! Welcome to our Fall 2013 application for the Brooklyn Filmmakers Collective.  We are a group of filmmakers who meet on a weekly basis to workshop each other's work.  We're glad you're interested!

A couple things: last Spring we received around 60 applications and we were only able to accept 5. Yikes! We expect similar numbers this time around, so make sure to show us your BEST work!  And make sure to follow all of the directions.

Please understand that although we may LOVE your work, we can not accept all applicants. Our mission is to be a supportive network of filmmakers both in BFC and out.

Also, please note that we are looking for COMMITTED MEMBERS. We meet Wednesdays at 388 Atlantic Avenue and ask that you come to as many meetings as possible. Most people only miss a couple of meetings per season.

Finally, please note we have a suggested $5 APPLICATION FEE. We are diligent about watching everyone's submitted materials, so this is to cover administrative fees for our screening committee.

If selected, there is a $50 per season membership fee, covering rent and other supplies.

As a member of the collective, it is expected that  all will volunteer and contribute to the collective in some concrete way. This can be a variety of things but may include: Social Media, organizing, programming, administrative, publicity, you have a ton of gear, you have a private jet, etc.
Video Samples
For this section we ask that you provide links to one or two works of your choosing over which you have had CREATIVE CONTROL.  [10 MINUTE MAX.]
If the work you like is longer, please orient us to a 10 minute section (or we'll default to the first 10 minutes).  
NO COMMERCIAL WORK or WORK FOR HIRE. These should be personal, passion projects.
Generally, we prefer to see short films, excerpts, and experiments rather than trailers or reels.

There is a suggested $5 application fee. No applicants will be turned away for lack of funding. Please contact us if the submission fee is not feasible for you at this time.
