A committee of Florida subject matter experts convened at the Florida Department of Education (DOE), Tallahassee, FL in Summer 2012. The committee used the Common Core State Standards (English/Language Arts) and Florida Educator Accomplished Practices (FEAPs) to guide the revision of the competencies and skills.

The competencies and skills will be reviewed by the State Board of Education (SBE) in March 2013. They will be implemented on examinations beginning in 2014.
