PICK UP THE PACE: It's a Turtle Run

Help save our pawikans and support our local conservation programs!

The run will benefit Save Philippine Seas' Pawikan Watchers project,
a training program through which volunteers from different parts of the Philippines
will be trained on the biology and ecology of sea turtles and PAWB-approved guidelines.

WHEN: March 3, 2013 5am
WHERE: Ateneo de Manila University Grounds

Fun Run Categories: 3K / 5K / 10K

All races are open to competitive and casual runners and walkers.
First three finishers from the three categories will receive trophies and other prizes.

Registration Fees: 3K - Php 300
                5K - Php 350
               10K- Php 450

Run Routes:
The route will cover all the main roads, including:
Father Masterson Drive, Fr. Arrupe Road, University Road,
Seminary Road (until the Loyola House of Studies), and Parade Loop.

Race marshals and water / aid stations will be set up at designated spots
along the race routes to ensure safety and orderliness of the activity.

Run Mechanics:
- Thirty (30) minutes before the first event, the host shall ask all the participants
  to convene at the starting line for the announcement of rules and to lead the warm up exercises.
- The 10K run will start at exactly 5:00 am, followed by the 5K category after 30 minutes, and the 3K run after a subsequent 30 minutes.
- A rope will be dropped at the starting line while the host simultaneously announces the start of each race.
- Paramedics and a van will also be on standby in case any of the participants are in need of medical assistance.
- Appointed Timers will determine time recorded for each participant.

Additional Rules and Regulations:
- Participants ages below 18 should secure a guardian's permission and signature,
  and ages below 13 are advised to be accompanied by an adult supervisor.
- Race pushes through rain or shine, however may be postponed depending on the severity of the weather.
  Race organizers will post prior notice on the run's website for any changes regarding the details
  or cancellation of the event due to inclement weather and/or force majeure.
- No refunds once the payment has been made (see Waiver).

All details I have provided in the Official Entry Form are true and correct. I am aware and acknowledge that all participants enter and join the Activity at their own risk. Accordingly, on behalf of my heirs, my executors, administrators, assigns and myself: I hereby waive and irrevocably release all rights or claims for damages, any illness(es), injury, damage, loss or even death against Ateneo ESS, Ateneo de Manila University, as well as their affiliates and sponsors as a consequence of my participation in the Ateneo ESS' Pick Up the Pace: It's a Turtle Run! Furthermore, I hereby irrevocably release and forever discharge them from any and all actions, sums of money, accounts, damages, claims and demands whatsoever which in law or in equity, I had, now have or hereafter may have by reason of any matter, cause or thing whatsoever or which could have been directly or indirectly adjudged arising out of, connected with, related/incidental to or as a result of my participation in the said Activity. I hereby clarify that I am physically fit to participate in the Activity and that my fitness has been certified by a licensed physician. In the even that my fitness to participate in the Activity has not been certified by a licensed physician, then my participation in the activities of the Ateneo ESS' Pick Up the Pace is entirely of my own volition and at my sole risk. I hereby agree that I am not entitled to refund my entry fee in the even of race cancellation due to rain, storm, inclement weather or any unforeseen condition or event, or any force majeure or for any cause beyond the reasonable control of the Organizers. Finally, I hereby certify that I voluntarily executed this WAIVER OF LIABILITY AND DECLARATION and that I have fully read and understood the contents and consequences.
