This year the Cape Girardeau Storytelling Festival will again be offering anyone wanting to take the stage to try their hand at storytelling the opportunity to showcase their talent during the New Voices Swapping Ground sessions.
The first session will be held on Saturday, April 14th from 12 noon to 1:15 p.m. and the second session will be held on Saturday, April 14th from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Both sessions will take place in the Main Street Tent. Please note that each teller will be given a maximum of 10 minutes to tell their story. This time limit will be enforced. So be considerate, sessions are tightly scheduled in order to accommodate the maximum number of participants. Do not make us use the shepherd's hook to pull you off stage.
Participants of all ages are encouraged to sign up prior to the festival by completing the following form. Priority is given to those who sign up in advance. Their appearance is guaranteed. While sign-ups may also be taken on Saturday, April 14th at the Main Street Tent, your ability to participate is not guaranteed and is totally dependant on their being spare time available.Once we've received your completed form we will provide you with the specific time that you will be scheduled to appear. Plan on getting to the tent at least 20 minutes prior to your scheduled time. If you sign up in advance you will be assigned a time. If you haven't heard from us within 2 days after you've submitted your form, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at (573) 335-1631.
That's all you have to do to participate. So sign up today!
