Using Video to Transform Student Learning and Engagement (led by Candace Chambers-Colbeck)
Video creation by both students and faculty has been studied and documented for a couple of decades as an innovative and useful pedagogical tool for redefining learning (the “R” in SAMR).  However, the time required to create videos (not to mention learn how to make them) has been an impediment to adoption. Clips (Apple app) changes all of this. Clips is an easy to use app that students and faculty can now use to take full advantage of the powerful learning possible through the proven pedagogy of video creation. These workshops will include “how to use Clips” but will focus on the pedagogy of using it in our higher education learning environments. (Note: Candace served on the team of four Apple Distinguished Educators that wrote the new Apple Workshop Kit for North American use (not released yet) in teaching educators how to use Clips for Learning. She was the only member that works in higher education.)
