FIMRC-McGill Global Health Volunteer Program - December 16-23 Trip Application
Hi FIMRCers!
How much do you know about the inequality of health care for children around the world? Would you like to find out and gain a first hand experience in working with healthcare professionals? FIMRC-McGill is holding a trip through the Global Health Volunteer Program in Alajuelita, Costa Rica, from December 16-23.

FIMRC (Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children) is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to improving pediatric and maternal health in developing world through implementation of innovative and self-sustainable health improvement programs. Our mission is to provide access to medical care for the millions of underprivileged and medically underserved children around the world. We strive to achieve our mission through fundraising for the construction of pediatric clinics in areas currently lacking a reliable source for healthcare, raising awareness of children's health worldwide, and supporting individuals and groups who desire to travel to medically underserved areas of the world through our Global Health Volunteer Program.

Volunteers will be assisting local medical professionals with the provision of health services, filling prescription medications, planing/giving health awareness lessons to Nicaraguan refugees, visiting local soup kitchens, as well as gaining valuable experiences in understanding the inequality of health care in underserved countries.

The cost for the trip is $1149. This includes program donation fee, accomodations with a homestay, all meals and transportation. Airfare is additional, and is about $800 from Montreal. Upon application acceptance, there is a $50 non-refundable deposit.

Up to 5 members of FIMRC-McGill applicants will be eligible for FIMRC-McGill's $200 travel subsidiary based on the application.
