Habits of Living is an international, interdisciplinary collaboration located at Brown University and traveling through different international locations in Bangalore, Oslo and London. It is an inquiry into the networked conditions of our times, and how they produce ways, conditions and habits of life and living which need to be unpacked beyond mapping and analyzing networks as producing seamless globalizations. Through a series of workshops, art residences, and dialogues, Habits of Living seeks to change the focus of network analyses away from catastrophic events or their possibility towards generative habitual actions that negotiate and transform the constant stream of information to which we are exposed.

TRAVEL INFORMATION

By Plane - T. F. Green Airport is located about ten miles south of Providence. The most economical mode of transportation to the campus is by shuttle (Airport Limousine Co.), which leaves the airport on the hour and arrives on campus about 15 minutes later. The next closest airport is Boston Logan Airport.

By Train/Bus - The train terminal is located in Providence's downtown district. From there, you should take a cab to campus. The Peter Pan bus terminal is located to the north of downtown and provides a free shuttle to Kennedy Plaza. From there, you can either walk "up the hill" (about 10 to 15 minutes), or take a bus or cab to campus.

By Car – Here are driving directions to the campus Visitor Parking Lot
(Note: Construction projects in the city may require adjustments to the routes below.)

From the North or South: From either I-95 South or I-95 North, take Exit 22A, Downtown, Memorial Boulevard. At the fifth traffic light, turn left onto College Street. Cross the bridge and proceed up the hill following College Street to the end. At the top of the hill, where College Street intersects with Prospect Street, you will see Brown’s Van Wickle Gates. Turn left onto Prospect Street. At the next light, turn right onto Waterman Street. At the third light, turn right onto Brook Street. The visitor parking lot will be on your left immediately after turning onto Brook Street.

From the East: Follow I-195 West until exit 2, South Main Street. Travel down South Main Street to the first light. Turn right onto College Street. At the next stop sign, go straight up the hill. At the top of the hill, you will see Brown’s Van Wickle Gates. Turn left onto Prospect Street. At the next light, turn right onto Waterman Street. At the third light, turn right onto Brook Street. The visitor parking lot will be on your left immediately after turning onto Brook Street.

From the Northwest: Follow Route 146 to I-95 South. Once on I-95 South, follow the directions above (from the North and South)

PLEASE NOTE: Certain GPS systems erroneously direct visitors to an address in North Providence. We suggest you check your GPS directions against a map before following them. If it appears as though you have the wrong address, route yourself to 75 Waterman Street, Providence RI 02906.

Please do not leave valuables, including GPS systems, laptops, and other electronic devices, in plain sight in your car.

Rates for the Visitor Lot are:
Mon - Fri 8am - 6pm $3.00/hour
All Day Rate until 6pm (M-F) $15.00
Weekdays after 6pm, weekends, holidays $1.50/hour

Airport Limousine (Airport Taxi) provides transportation to Brown University from TF Green Airport every hour on the hour and from Brown University back to the Airport departing from Faunce House Arc. 27 minutes past every hour. The cost is $11.00/person.
