QACON 12 Workshop Proposal Form
Thank you for your interest in facilitating a workshop for the 5th annual Queer and Asian Conference at the University of California, Berkeley. The conference will take place APRIL 27-29TH, 2012 on the UC Berkeley campus.
For the past few years the Queer & Asian Conference at UC Berkeley has focused on our identities and how they interact with the environment around us. As our Queer and Asian community continues to grow and change, we look towards developing a space where both leaders and newcomers alike can come together to sustain momentum in the movements we are part of.
At this year's conference "Collide, Connect, Create" we intend to engage in each other's struggles, share resources, foster political education, and cultivate leadership among students and between movements. Our goal is to provide a forum for individuals, communities, and issues to collide, to connect and build coalition networks, and to create strategies for working across difference.
This year we are looking for workshop proposals addressing the theme "Collide, Connect, Create," emphasizing personal involvement and education within and across movements and communities.
DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 26TH, 2012
Please note that workshops will take place on SATURDAY, APRIL 28TH 2012 and will be approximately 60-70 minutes in length.
Workshop applications will be processed on a rolling basis.
We hope to see you join us in a weekend of queer Asian empowerment!
