A Note to Metro State Professors

We ask all applicants for Supplemental Instruction Leader positions to provide us with at least one recommendation from a Metro State professor. Below is a brief description of Supplemental Instruction. Following that is a section in which we ask you to rate an applicant on six job-related attributes. Finally, we ask you to offer comments in response to three prompts. Your feedback is a critical element in our ongoing effort to recruit the most qualified and capable individuals to serve as Supplemental Instruction Leaders. What is Supplemental Instruction?

● Supplemental Instruction (SI) is an academic assistance program that is designed to increase student performance and retention ● Supplemental Instruction provides regularly scheduled, out-of-class, peer-facilitated sessions for 1000 level courses ● The SI Leader is attached to specific learning community courses to provide students with an interactive, systematic, and disciplined approach for processing the subject material assigned by the professor
