"Reflecting Remembrance" - Questionnaire 2013

How are History, Heritage and Citizenship Educators in Europe’s classrooms dealing with this implicit responsibility of educating the history of the diverse European continent? How do we respect the pain and victim hood of past experiences, without burdening future generations with obstructive feelings of guilt? How can we adopt days of remembrance for reconciliation and celebration of democracy, liberation and progress? This questions will prevail the 20th EUROCLIO Annual Conference & Professional Training and Development Course "Reflecting Remembrance, Teaching History for a Common Culture of Remembrance?"2013 in Erfurt, Germany.

With this questionnaire we would like to ask your opinion on  challenges of history education today regarding the topics of German History, Remembrance and Citizenship education. The aim of this questionnaire is to find out which kind of images and approaches of  the education in different countries formulate about the aforementioned topics. These answers will be very helpful to assess how different these issues are dealt with across different countries. EUROCLIO can use this information to signalize trends and to refine its policy making.

This online questionnaire has four sections:
A. Personal Information
B. German History
C. Citizenship
D. Remembrance
