Buddy System Fall 2012
The International Department appreciates your enthusiasm and desire to be part of the buddy program and to help out an International Student during their time here in Iceland.  While there maybe some gray areas as to what the role of a buddy is we have put some basic ideas below:
1.) Communicate with your buddy over facebook or email before their arrival.
2.)  Make sure your buddy has landed safely in Iceland.  You're more than welcome to pick up your buddy from Keflavik airport or BSI in Reykjavik and show them to their guesthouse.
If there seems to be a problem with your buddies travel plans inform the International Department.  birnabj@ru.is
3.)  Show your buddy around Reykjavik.
You're more than welcome to show your buddy around the city, it is encouraged.
4.)  Invite your buddy to dinner.
International students are very excited to be invited to the home of an Icelandic.
Being a buddy is a good experience and a good way to keep in touch with people outside the country and to also spread the Icelandic culture.
