Dear users,
January 17: Following a server issue, Logeion, Morpho, and Retro are now all back, as are the local install of morpheus and Whitaker's Words. See esp. point 2 below first if Logeion is not loading for you.
Wordlist (favorites) fans: Users report problems with Microsoft Edge. By default, it is apparently trying to protect you from downloading even simple text files. Please test the download option before you 'favorite' too many words.
If you are using the app, please check which version it is! As of January 15, we have released version 3.3.
Please STOP AND READ THIS FIRST if Logeion-Web is not working properly for you!! We are sorry for your troubles. Here are some pointers:
0) Check the URL that you are using. It should be
https://logeion.uchicago.edu .
1) A user recently reported that Logeion became responsive again after he installed an update of his browser (Chrome, as it happens).
2) When we do updates to Logeion's back-end,
scripts downloaded in your disk cache may no longer work. So if things don't work properly for you at the moment, your web browser likely needs to reload ("force-reload", "hard refresh") the page. Depending on your system, your browser cache may need to be emptied for this to work.. 3) If Logeion stops working for you, you can try to figure out if the problem is at your end or ours by trying a different browser, or opening a 'private' or 'incognito' window in the same browser.
4) Complaints that no search work and "a problem" warnings show up, typically get resolved by clearing data from your browser cache (not cookies, but "cached images and files", for "all time"). See the very last image on this page.
Please keep reporting any and all infelicities you find.
