GLOWW Group for SoA Students: Spring 2012 Registration
Join a 5-week workshop where you will share your writing with School of the Arts global learners:  those who have been educated outside of the United States or have primarily studied in a language other than English. This is not a class, but a community of writers. We will learn from the cultural and linguistic backgrounds of each participant, considering these as strengths to build on while learning the conventions of American writing. We hope you will form a sustainable writing community that can help each other independently once you have completed the workshop.

You will be responsible for bringing writing to each of the five sessions. Bring your SOA projects; no extra work is involved and we will not read others’ writing outside of the session. The facilitator, Writing Center Consultant Carin White, will help the other group members give productive responses that help you move forward with the project. Carin earned her MFA in theater directing from Columbia in 2011. She has a wealth of experience teaching writing and writing consulting with international students.

If you cannot commit to five sessions (see dates below), consider signing up for individual appointments at the writing center.

We will select a limited number of students to participate. Please apply by Friday, January 27, at noon. We will notify participants of selection the week of January 30.
