2013-14 South Dakota National Board Scholarship Application

The South Dakota Department of Education has limited one-time federal funds available to provide scholarships to South Dakota educators interested in pursuing National Board Certification. The department is accepting scholarship applications for the 2013-14 candidate cycle only. The application deadline is September 1, 2013. Apply below. I understand that if I am awarded a scholarship, I agree to: *

Discuss with my direct supervisor that I'm pursuing National Board Certification.

Complete the National Board Certification process and submit ten scoreable entries.

Withdraw from National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) as soon as possible if I am unable to continue in the National Board Certification process. If I must withdraw, I will do so before November 1 in order to ensure that scholarship funds can be reallocated to another scholarship applicant. I understand that if I do not withdraw by the deadline, South Dakota Department of Education will be unable to reallocate scholarship funds to another applicant and I will be ineligible to receive any future support from the South Dakota Department of Education National Board Scholarship Program.

Reimburse the South Dakota Department of Education for the full scholarship amount if I don't withdraw in a timely manner or complete all assessment requirements and my status is therefore reported by NBPTS as “Incomplete” or “No Attempt".
