GTI wanted to thank you for the AAA show notes. I'm a two day old user of my first smart phone (Samsung Galaxy Nexus) and it's really been helpful to look through the show notes.

If only Gina could do the Google Change Log on AAA in addition to TWiG I would have everything I needed since your show notes are comprehensive.

How long does it take to stop worrying about how fragile the smart phone is? It feels like holding a new baby; feels so fragile. Every time I pick it up I'm worried about seeing a crack on the screen, and since I paid up front for the device at Ting, I'm vested, big time. I even have it in an Otterbox. It's really cool, though, and I'm amazed how many free apps there are in the Play Store.

Keep up the good work!!!

Tiki Bigham

Post show:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78x-LhZEh8oVIDEO
[1] What was your motivation in buying an S III last year? What's your take on the following "issues" that seem to garner the most press when talking about Android: Fragmentation: Does this really affect the non-techie? Security: Do most users who get all apps through the Play store and don't pirate or Bit Torrent have much to worry about, security-wise? Consistency: Many of the reasons you site for your switch have existed in Android for years. Is it a more consistent experience sealed the deal? Tempted by the Nexus devices at all? What are things that Android can still learn from iOS? Features you miss the most? Android for tablets is a much different story, right? Explain that.
[2] -Billboard reported Google struck a deal with Warner Music Group yesterday, according to a source. gives Google rights for two services it's working on -- one that's part of Google's Android music platform, Google Play, and the other that's part of YouTube. - Android music service makes sense - music is a big part of mobile, why let spotify/pandora have all the users
[3] - Google has filed a patent for “simple backside device touch controls,” - Variations in touch strength could be used to either trigger a function or allow for a preview
[4] Pocket Casts (and others) do variable speed playback in audio, not video The GS3 and Note 2 can do this in the stock video player fwiw. VLC for Android supposedly does this up to 4x speed
[5] What we’re seeing is a slightly tweaked TouchWiz UI with a grey back instead of black in the Settings menu, transparent notification bar from home, and new Smart features call Pause and Scroll. Smart Pause looks as if it will pause a video you are watching should you turn your head and look away from the screen. Smart Scroll is a feature that was rumored a week ago as a way for the device to scroll through internet pages, emails, etc. as your eyes stare at the screen. screenshots from a Galaxy S3 ROM that show similar features, but also dive deeper into this Smart Scroll. You can see in the settings for this feature that you can adjust the speed and acceleration of the scroll and also decide which apps can take advantage of it.
[6] The new Galaxy S4 looks like it will have NFC built into the battery, just like Galaxy S3, and unlike the Galaxy Note 2, which had it on the back cover.
[7] The New York Times. Breaking news can be delivered hourly to your Glass headset. If you use the "look up" head gesture, Glass can show off photos and headlines, and read the text of a story to you as well. Gmail has a presence on Glass too, allowing you to reply to important emails right from the headset. The Gmail "subscription" can be configured to only push you "Important" emails. You'll see the message subject line, a picture of the sender, and can dictate your response with Google's voice recognition system. Evernote's also on board, letting you share photos to Skitch. After taking a picture, you can swipe the trackpad over to a Share mode, swipe to Skitch, and tap it to share a picture. Jordan described a scenario where you could take a photo at a meeting using Glass, post it to Skitch, and later on use your tablet to annotate the image and save it to Evernote.
[8] The Glass design is modular, so you will be able to add frames and lenses that match your prescription. We understand how important this is and we’ve been working hard on it. Here’s a picture of +Greg Priest-Dorman, a member of the Glass team and an early pioneer in wearable computing, wearing one of the prototypes we’re testing. We’re still perfecting the design for prescription frames. Although the frames won’t be ready for the Explorer Edition’s release, hang in there -- you can expect to see them later this year.
