We told you on April 4th that Google's Nest Protect smoke detector was recalled because of a faulty in-the-air gesture feature. The product has been unvailable since that recall. But now it's back, and they've dropped the price from $130 to $99. The Nest Protect enabled users to turn off alarms by waving their hand in front of the device. The recalled was effected because the alarm could be accidentally turned off in a real fire. The new version doesn't have the feature at all. http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2014/06/17/nests-smoke-alarm-returns-with-price-cut/?_php=true&_type=blogs&_r=0
