Center for Systemic PeaceFounded in 1997. Transistional Justice Database ProjectThe Transitional Justice Data Base Project began at the University of Wisconsin in 2005 and is led by three political scientists: Leigh A. Payne, Tricia D. Olsen, and Andrew G. Reiter. The team created a global database of over 900 mechanisms (trials, truth commissions, amnesties, reparations, and lustration policies) used from 1970-2007. The main task of the project is to better understand how these mechanisms are used and whether they work, with the ultimate goal of improving policy.
