Cottington Woods Player (PC) Survey
We on Cottington Woods Staff very much want to know you as a player - what plotlines you do and do not enjoy, your expectations and experiences.  We want this to be as much your game as ours, and as much as possible, we will try to tailor our plotlines towards your personal preferences.

Please note:  This doesn't mean that we will change the style or theme of Cottington Woods.  We have a very specific flavor we are going for (for more information, please check out our Character Creation overview here:http://cottingtonwoods.com/library/charactercreation.php and in the rulebook), and it may be that the style of game we are creating is not the style of game you enjoy.  However, knowing what you like and do not like allows us to tailor plotlines that are targeted at your character to more closely match the types of plots you enjoy.  Does this mean that if you dislike being forced to make hard moral choices that you never will?  No, but it does mean that if you dislike a certain kind of plot, when we write, say, your quest to find the Golden Apple, we will try as best we can to make that storyline match your personal preferences.

What type(s) of plot(s) do you enjoy, or that you want to be involved in? *
Please use examples of plots you've been involved in from other games that you've really enjoyed, or just concrete examples of plots you like.  For example, "I loved being involved in the Atticus Web plotline in 7V, because it gave me a chance to be a "good" rogue.  I love rogue modules, but so often rogue plotlines involve doing the shady stuff. I like to be heroic even while I'm breaking-and-entering."
What type(s) of plot(s) do you not enjoy and don't wish to be involved in? *
Try to be specific where possible.  For example, "I really enjoy moral dilemma plotlines.  I like having to make tough decisions and when I do, having to face the consequences of my actions.  However, I do not enjoy angst for angst's sakes.  If I made a decision that resulted in someone dying, I don't mind if I am then later confronted with that death.  But, for example, I would not have fun with a plotline that involved sending the ghosts of my family out to surround me and tell me how much I suck to make me cry.  That's the type of angsty plotlines I dislike."
Do you have an opinion on Player Conflict?
This is not just PCs fighting PCs, but can involve situations in which PCs disagree on moral/ethical situations, or even involuntary situations due to an Inflict.
Do you have an opinion on encounters or plotlines designed to scare?  What about fake blood and/or gore?
Fairytales are filled with gruesome situations.  We aren't saying these will happen on the time, but it's entirely possible you might find yourself eating a gingerbread man, confronted with horrific nightmares, or finding a heart in a jar.
What expectations do you have for Cottington Woods in terms of plotlines, people/creatures, or experiences that you are hoping will exist in this game?
We make no promises that your suggestions will become part of our world, as Staff also has their own expectations, but we promise to listen and incorporate what will work in our game. We want this to be your world as much as ours.
If there is one thing you wanted to see in Cottington Woods, what would it be?
Again, no promises.  But we want to know what you want.
Do you have any (Real World) Talents that you hope you can use in the game?
This is especially true if your character doesn't have a "skill" for it (though we encourage you then to make your Occupation related to the skill/talent).  For example, you sing, dance, or play a music instrumental.  You can do magic tricks.  You're an amazing baker or artist or crafter, and you'd love a plotline where you save the day by, say, crocheting a spiderweb.
Are there any Books, Movies, Poems, Paintings, Fairytales, Folktales, or other Artistic Pieces you really want Cottington Staff to be familiar with and perhaps take inspiration from, or that your own character concept is based on?
What is your sleeping pattern and sleeping preferences at a LARP?
Do you intend to leave site during events?  If yes, please let us know your plans.
Where might we know you from?
Other games/LARPs, PC/NPC names, etc.
Do you have any special concerns of which we should be aware?
(Allergies, medical conditions, time restrictions, etc)
How did you hear about Cottington Woods? Did someone refer you?
