Application for Muslim Women's Arts & Voices

Dear Applicant, We are so pleased with the overwhelming response to our exhibition that we have extended the application deadline to October 27, 2012. A quick reminder: although there are opportunities to be involved in this exhibition on multiple levels (please see the link at the bottom of this page: http://imow.org/exhibitions/Call_For_Submissions), only those women who live in the following 4 locations should apply using this application form: San Francisco/Bay Area, CA; Aarhus, Denmark; Sharjah/Surrounding Emirates, U.A.E.; Mindanao (AARM and non-AARM), Philippines. This exhibition is open to all women who identify as Muslim, whether culturally, religiously or by family origin / heritage. The application form below is designed to help us get to know you and your interests better. While some of the questions be will general and related to media-making, others will be much more personal to you as a Muslim woman artist and/or thought leader. We have found that oftentimes creative women themselves gain valuable insights about their own work and vision by answering these in-depth questions. While we can't promise such an outcome to everyone applying, we certainly believe that by being truthful and introspective you will come away with some new discoveries about your work. There are no right answers. We value a diversity of experiences and backgrounds. A few tips before you begin: first, set aside at least one hour to thoroughly complete the application. Read through the questions entirely before you begin. Answer all questions as briefly and succinctly as possible. One paragraph is sufficient. Submit the complete application by October 27, 2012. Any and all incomplete applications will be discarded. If you have any questions or technical difficulties, please email team@imow.org.
