10 Can present ideas articulately and persuasively in a complex discussion. Sophisticated arguing and turn-taking strategies. Has a very good command of relevant vocabulary.

9   Can successfully present and justify ideas in a formal discussion. Turn-taking handled appropriately. Has a good command of relevant vocabulary, allowing gaps to be generally overcome with circumlocutions.

8   Keeps up with the discussion and can justify an opinion. Responds and interacts adequately with other speakers.

7   Has some difficulty keeping up with the discussion and arguing an opinion but makes a good effort.

6   Participates to the discussions but with very short claims that are not backed up with arguments.

5   Has serious difficulty keeping up with the discussion and arguing an opinion either due to lack of effort or linguistic or lack of some other capability.

4   Has marked difficulty in keeping up with the discussion and contributes only occasionally.

3   Severe difficulty in following the discussion and no active involvement. There is some evidence of an attempt to follow discussions.

2   Limited evidence for efforts follow the discussions and teaching. Very little active contribution.

1   Rarely follows discussions or teaching. Very little active contribution.

0   Never follows discussions or teaching. No active contribution.

The average number of teachers' assessment is compared to students self-evaluation. Standard deviation function will tell how realistic students self-evaluation is. The student will get the better grade the more realistic his self-evaluation is.
