Please list three in order of preference followed by the times preferred.

Students will learn how to search both versions of the library catalogue to locate books, e-resources, curriculum materials, DVD's, etc. using keyword and subject searching. Advanced version will include features such as truncation, limits, citing and exporting.

Students will look at the issue of plagiarism and become familiar with the University's guidelines on academic integrity. The advanced session will also explore the issue of issue of academic integrity by looking at both intentional and unintentional plagiarism with some practice exercises to identify and correct patchwriting.

Students will learn the basics of formatting in-text and reference list citations. In the advanced session students would learn additional style rules such as paper format, proper representation of data, formulas, tables, figures, etc.

Students will be able to distinguish between scholarly/academic journals, popular magazines, and peer reviewed/refereed journals.

Students will learn how to turn a research question into keywords that can be used to construct a search strategy.

Students will learn techniques such as proper use of connector terms (and/or/not), truncation, limits and thesaurus terms for finding articles, etc. using the library databases.

A demonstration of how to set up e-mail or RSS alerts and saved searches in the databases or catalogs of your choosing.

A demonstration of the features of several products available to assist in collecting. organizing and citing items to be used in your research.
